PineCroft – Patience Part Deux

IMGP1687

Not quite making that one a week blog post as I had committed to in my Goals. Well, mostly because everything is up in the air. We did go and look at another property, but for the .2 acres more it had, the house wasn’t a real draw. It was okay, but nothing to write home about and the 1.8 acres still would not be enough. We have upped our alpaca count to be about ten. We are still doing our homework. I even bought the “bible” for alpaca rearing. $130 for this book. It should clean the poop for you too.

Well, with that house biting the dust, Cindy found another. We went to see it Sunday and it isn’t too bad. A little more room than our current, open floor plan for the kitchen/living room/dining room. It has a small deck just off the kitchen. There is even a ramp for whenever a wheelchair bound guest, or my back lets go and climbing the stairs is bad. There is a lot of land. There is eight acres and about 1.5 to 2 cleared all ready. A small orchard that needs some TLC. Looked like mostly peaches, maybe a pear. There was a blueberry patch all ready fenced in. I will have to build some new raised beds, but otherwise it is just build a barn and create paddocks. Cindy is doing the negotiations. We will see what happens.

I will miss this place if we move from here. We have had some great parties here. I usually do two a year. This last one may be the last one at PineCroft. Maybe the spirits sensed it because instead of our usual bright sunny days, we had overcast and spot showers. It didn’t dampen our spirits. My son and his friends still managed to get in a game of horseshoes. The barbeque came out well. Maybe a little overdone on the ribs, but the brisket was perfect. The coney island sauce that my step-mom made was the bomb. So even with the damp weather, most people stayed outside under the big tent and had a lot of fun.

Given that it appears we are going to move, somewhere, I have to get going on fixing up a few things around here. It is no longer a matter of, do I have the cash to get this done now, it is, get er done! So, I think that is how I will be spending this weekend. Doing some minor repairs about the place to get it in shape. We have brought back the realtor who got us this place and sold our old house. Celia Hanson is one great realtor. She can make miracles happen.

So, we are at a standstill for the moment. No future planning as we have no idea where we will land. I will just get some improvements done around here to fix up some things that have been let go. The nice part for whomever buys this house is that we have all ready gotten in three tons of pellets that should cover them for the year. We still have 3/4 ton in the basement. Kind of a bonus for the house.

I did manage to swap out the kitchen sink. That really needed updating, but one of those things that was ugly but functional. Now it looks real sharp with a nice stainless double sink and new faucet. So getting there. I think swapping out the storm door in the front will really help with curb appeal.

We did return to the eight acre property for a second look. I found that down the left side of the property, there is a “road” that goes quite a ways back, gives nice access as we slowly move back.  I like how the house is situated back from the road for privacy. There is also a “road” on the right side giving access to the back of the house. Nice when it comes time to deliver the wood for the barn.

Well, I will write again soon.  I have other things to write about besides PineCroft and will probably get to them shortly. Enjoy the fall.

About Emma Morgaine Croft

I have been called many things on my journey, Professor, White Wolf, Rainbow Warrior and Spirit Walker. I had a blog on blogger.com for a number of years. I think the last post was when Papa passed back in 2012. I had also written for World Wide Hippies online mag for a year or so and even won a Golden Note for online writing. I got burned out writing and decided to stop for a bit. The only writing I did was comments on things I shared on Facebook. Unfortunately, that often got into a lot of angry and ugly talk. I try to maintain my cool, but there are just some unreasonable people out there. I found it emotionally and spiritually draining. I saw my niece's blog on here and thought that maybe it was time to resurrect Thoughts On A Cloudy Day. These are my thoughts and meanderings. You can accept them or walk away. I hope that in some way, these thoughts can spark other thoughts and sharing by people around the world. My dream is to make the world a better place for all people. My heart to your heart, one hear, one spirit.
