When I was young I was given a seed.
The seed of a new life with the Lord.
But I had a child’s mind and was easily persuaded
to follow the will of man.
So for years I lived amidst the greed and lust of man.
I heard the sound of someone crying in the wood.
Something deep within me made me search out the sound.
So I wandered the wood
until I found the crier in the wood.
There he was
a hairy old man sitting on a rock.
“Old man, why do you sit weeping like a newborn babe?”
asked I of the man.
He looked at me through tearful eyes.
“I cry for today I may lose a son.
I have raised him from a child, but when he got older
he turned away to follow the will of man.
For this I cray, for though my son will live
his spirit will have died”
Then I looked into his eyes
and saw it was for me that he cried.
It was the Lord God!
I fell to the ground,
I begged he would forgive me
and take me as a servant.
He kissed me and told me to rise and serve his people.
So I have traveled the wasteland of the world
and have been as the seed sown amongst the thorns
taken before I was choked out
I was transplanted to good earth.
I have grown and blossomed
an now must spread the seed to others.
So they too, may blossom and grow in God’s light.
