There once was a prince in search of a need
A princess he needed to do a brave deed
A princess with a bright smile and rich golden hair
Whose perils to conquer, only he would dare
Upon his steed the color of snow
Over hill and valley on his search would go
He was told by many that romantics were dead
But on he did search ne’er taking to bed
He travelled on, both night and day
Without stopping to rest along the way
When on a sunny day he happened to see
A princess as beautiful as can be
And as her guard a dragon stood
Keeping close watch at the edge of the wood
The princess was kept by a tree in the glen
While the dragon kept watch spouting fire now and then
The prince fell in love with the vision he saw
And the dragon’s hot breath he could stand no more
So when the dragon chance to look away
The prince seized the moment, the dragon to slay
With the dragon dead, he no longer could tarry
The beautiful princess he wanted to marry
He asked for her hand from her father the King
When he said “Yes”, the choir did sing
A wedding so grand as in days of yore
And the prince and the princess were lonely no more.
